Wellbeing through relationship & family change

Support for the whole person, not just the situation — helping adults and children feel steadier while family life is changing.

What this is…

Relationship breakdown doesn't just create practical problems to solve. It can affect how you sleep, think, feel and respond to everyday life.

Maybe you're not sleeping properly, or you're snapping at things that wouldn't normally bother you. Maybe you can't concentrate. Or perhaps your child, who used to be easygoing, is suddenly anxious, angry or unusually quiet.

This work supports the wellbeing of adults and children through relationship breakdown, separation and family change.

Alongside talking about what's happening, we can use practical, body-based approaches to help you recognise and manage stress responses, feel steadier and create more space for clearer thinking, communication and decision-making.

This might be for you if…

  • You can't switch your brain off, even when you're exhausted

  • You're snapping at people you don't want to snap at

  • Your child has changed since the separation and you're not sure what to do about it

  • You feel like your body hasn't "caught up" with everything that's happened

  • You or your child are neurodivergent and changes in routine, sensory load or increased demands are making things particularly difficult.

  • You don't quite feel like yourself and family change is taking its toll.

How Sessions Work…

Sessions are one-to-one, online or in person in Whitstable, and tailored to the needs of the adult, child or young person.

Drawing on my Level 6 Diploma in Yoga Therapy and specialist training in child and adolescent mental health, sessions may include:

  • practical tools for managing anxiety and overwhelm as they arise;

  • understanding your own — or your child's — stress responses;

  • body-based practices to support regulation and a greater sense of steadiness;

  • support for parents in understanding what may sit beneath changes in a child's behaviour;

  • approaches adapted for neurodivergent adults and children.

A first conversation is free and without pressure — simply a chance to talk about what's happening and whether this kind of support feels appropriate.

Supporting Your Children Through This Time…

Children don't always have the words to explain what family change feels like.

Their feelings may instead show up through behaviour, anxiety, anger, withdrawal,

sleep difficulties or a greater need for reassurance.

Support can help children:

  • recognise and name what they're feeling;

  • develop practical ways of navigating big emotions and overwhelm;

  • understand that adult problems and the separation are not theirs to fix;

  • find appropriate opportunities for voice and choice;

  • build a greater sense of stability while things around them are changing.

Parents can also be supported to understand what may sit beneath changes in behaviour and find practical ways to respond while managing their own stress.

Why Work With Me…

My background combines Level 6 Yoga Therapy, specialist child and adolescent mental-health training, family mediation, divorce coaching, safeguarding and domestic-abuse awareness.

This gives me a broad understanding of both the family context and the way stress can affect the body, emotions, communication and decision-making.

The aim isn't to eliminate difficult feelings. It's to help you or your child understand what's happening, develop useful tools and feel better able to navigate it.

FAQ’s…

Is this suitable for children?

Yes. Sessions can be adapted for children and young people using age-appropriate approaches to emotions, stress and regulation.

Do you have experience with neurodivergent children or adults?

Yes. I have experience supporting neurodivergent adults and children, including people with ADHD, autism and sensory-processing differences.

Do I need to be "in crisis" to book this?

No. Many people book sessions because relationship breakdown is making daily life harder than usual — sleep, focus, patience, mood — even without a specific crisis point.

Is this a replacement for talking therapy?

No. These sessions are not a replacement for clinical mental-health care or talking therapy where that is needed. If another form of support would be more appropriate, we can discuss that openly and I can signpost where appropriate.
